Participating Clubs
Stronger Clubs. Brighter Futures.
Participating Clubs are the foundation of the Lions Eye Health Programme.

Through their support, volunteers are trained, equipment is maintained and free vision screening services are delivered to children and young people throughout New Zealand.

Together, Participating Clubs are helping ensure that no child is held back by an undetected vision problem.

More than a donation – you're a partner in hope.

Why Become a Participating Club?
By becoming a Participating Club, your club becomes part of a growing nationwide network committed to improving children's eye health and supporting their future success.

Your contribution helps provide:
  • Training for volunteers and screeners.
  • Screening equipment and resources.
  • Support for local screening activities.
  • Programme development and expansion.
  • Educational materials for schools and families.

Every Participating Club plays an important role in helping Kiwi children see clearly and reach their full potential.

What Does It Mean to Be a Participating Club?
Participating Clubs:

✔ Support a recognised National Lions Project.

✔ Enable members of their club to become certified LEHP Screeners.

✔ Help provide free vision screening services in communities throughout New Zealand.

✔ Receive programme updates and information.

✔ Become part of a nationwide network making a real difference.

✔ Can work alongside neighbouring clubs and Zones to support local screening activities.

✔ Help create brighter futures for children and their families.

Working Together
Not every club needs to provide screening services themselves.

Many clubs choose to support the programme financially, while others have members who become screeners or facilitators.

Clubs within Zones and Districts are encouraged to work together, sharing volunteers and resources to maximise their impact.

Whether your club contributes through funding, volunteers or encouragement, every level of involvement helps strengthen the programme.

Annual Contribution
The suggested annual contribution for Participating Clubs is:

Clubs with fewer than 20 members
$100 per year

Clubs with 20 or more members
$5 per member per year

Many clubs choose to contribute above the suggested amount, helping us expand the programme and reach more communities throughout New Zealand.

Your Impact
When your club becomes a Participating Club, you are helping to:

👓 Identify children who may benefit from further assessment.

🏫 Support schools and Early Childhood Centres.

👥 Train volunteers and screeners.

📷 Provide and maintain screening equipment.

🦁 Strengthen Lions' commitment to improving children's health and well-being.

❤️ Create healthier, brighter futures for Kiwi children.

More Than a Donation
Participation is not measured solely by dollars.

It is measured by the difference we make together.

Every child screened, every volunteer trained and every school supported is made possible through the generosity and commitment of Participating Clubs across New Zealand.

Together, we are building a nationwide movement dedicated to helping children see clearly and succeed.

Join Us
Become a Participating Club and help ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive with the best possible vision.
