Meet the Team - Lions Eye Health Program

The Lions Eye Health Programme New Zealand is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers who work together to deliver vision screening services to children throughout the country.

At the national level, the programme is led by the National LEHP Coordinator, who provides overall leadership, strategic direction, and support for the programme across New Zealand.

As New Zealand is made up of two main islands, we have a South Island Coordinator who works closely with and reports directly to the National Coordinator. This role helps ensure that schools, volunteers, and Lions Clubs throughout the South Island receive the support they need.

Each Lions District has a District Coordinator responsible for coordinating screening activities within their area. District Coordinators oversee local operations, support volunteers, manage equipment, and help grow the programme within their communities.

Supporting the District Coordinators are our Facilitators, who organise screenings, liaise with schools, coordinate volunteers, and ensure each screening day runs smoothly.

Together, our team shares a common goal: helping identify vision concerns early so children can reach their full potential in the classroom and beyond.
