Our Impact
Making a Difference, One Child at a Time
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the dedication of volunteers, the support of Participating Clubs and the partnership of schools and communities, the Lions Eye Health Programme is helping identify vision concerns that may otherwise go unnoticed.
Together, we are creating brighter futures for Kiwi children throughout New Zealand.
Why Early Detection Matters
It is estimated that 1 in 5 children may have an undetected vision problem.
Many children do not realise they are experiencing vision difficulties, and these issues can affect:
- Learning and academic achievement
- Confidence and social development
- Participation in sport and activities
- Concentration and behaviour
- Overall well-being
By identifying potential concerns early, families can seek further assessment and support when required.
