OUR JOURNEY
The Lions Eye Health Programme New Zealand was inspired by the success of the programme operating in Australia.
Recognising the positive impact that early vision screening could have on children's lives, Lions members in New Zealand explored the opportunity to establish a similar initiative here.
Following support and guidance from our Australian colleagues, the programme gained momentum and was adopted as a National Lions Project.
Since then, volunteers across New Zealand have embraced the vision of helping children through early detection of possible vision concerns.
From the first training sessions to the first schools screened, the programme continues to grow through the commitment of volunteers, Participating Clubs and supporters.
Today, LEHP New Zealand is building a nationwide network dedicated to ensuring that no child is disadvantaged by an undetected vision problem.
Together, we are creating brighter futures—one child at a time.
